How does PhotoFlight work?

PhotoFlight reads the dates and locations stored in your photos to work out where you've travelled, then builds your globe, passport, trips and albums. Your travel history is built and stored on your device; Apple's services look up place names and display maps.

Why are some countries missing?

PhotoFlight can only detect locations from photos that have GPS data. Screenshots, photos received via messaging apps, and some camera photos may not have location information. The free version scans the last three years of photos; PhotoFlight Pro scans your whole photo history. The Scan Report shows what was found and what is missing.

How do I restore my purchase?

Open any Pro feature and tap "Restore Purchases" on the upgrade screen. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.

Can I add flights manually?

Yes. PhotoFlight Pro lets you add flights manually with origin, destination, and dates.

Where is PhotoGuessr?

PhotoGuessr, the family photo game, is now part of PhotoFlight rather than a separate app. Open the Passport tab and tap PhotoGuessr. It comes with PhotoFlight Pro.

How do we play PhotoGuessr?

Pass one iPhone or iPad around. Everyone sees a photo from your trips, and each player in turn secretly drops a pin where they think it was taken. When everyone has locked in, you reveal the answer together: every pin on the map with its distance and points, the round winner, and the place and date of the photo. Play with 1 to 8 players and 5, 10 or 15 rounds. The closer your pin, the more points you score, up to 5,000 a round.

Can we play PhotoGuessr on the TV?

Yes, on iPhone and iPad. Connect to a TV with AirPlay or a cable and the TV shows the photo and the reveal, while each player still places their pin in secret on the device.

Why does PhotoGuessr use only some of my photos?

The game uses photos that PhotoFlight has placed on your map, so photos without a location are left out. Photos you have hidden in the Photos app, screenshots and videos are never shown. You can also limit a game to certain years or albums, so check those choices if the pool looks small. Photos stored only in iCloud may need a moment and an internet connection to load.

Is my data safe?

Yes. Your travel history stays on your device and there is no account. We don't collect, transmit, or store any of your personal information. Place names and maps come from Apple's services, and the optional enhanced flight lookup sends only a flight number and date to a third-party service using your own key.
