Overview

PhotoFlight is designed with privacy at its core. Your photos are processed on your device, and we do not collect, receive, or store any of your personal data, photos, or location information. A few features use Apple's services, or an optional third-party service you set up yourself; each is described below.

Data We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect your photos or their contents
• We do not collect GPS or location data from your photos
• We do not collect your travel history or trip information
• We do not use analytics or tracking SDKs
• We do not share any data with third parties; the only data that goes to outside services is what the features below send to Apple and, if you turn it on, to AviationStack

On-Device Processing

PhotoFlight reads GPS metadata from your photo library to build your travel map. This processing happens on your iPhone or iPad, and your photos are never uploaded. To show place names, PhotoFlight sends the coordinates of your photo locations to Apple's place-name lookup (reverse geocoding). Maps, and the addresses and airports you search for, are provided by Apple Maps. These requests are handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy.

Photo Library Access

PhotoFlight requests access to your photo library to read GPS location metadata and creation dates from your photos. This data is used solely to detect your travel locations and is processed and stored locally on your device. When you choose to, PhotoFlight can also add or correct the location of photos in your library, or mark photos as favourites. If your photos are stored in iCloud Photos, full-size copies may be downloaded from iCloud to display or share them.

Location Services

PhotoFlight does not use your device's current location. You set your home locations by searching for an address with Apple Maps, and they are stored only on your device.

Optional Features

• Calendar — if you connect your calendar, PhotoFlight reads your calendar events on your device to find flight bookings and check your detected trips. It does not add or change events.
• Enhanced flight lookup — off by default. If you turn it on and enter your own AviationStack API key, the flight number and date of a flight found in your calendar are sent to AviationStack (api.aviationstack.com) to look up flight details. Your key is stored in your device's keychain.
• NFC souvenir tags — on supported iPhones, you can link an NFC tag to a trip, a country or a web album. PhotoFlight writes the trip's or country's details (such as its name, country, dates, distance and location), or the album link, to the tag, and anyone who scans the tag with a phone can read them.

When you open the “More from Blue Flame Games” screen and its saved list is more than a week old, PhotoFlight asks Apple’s public App Store lookup for the current names and icons of our other apps; the request contains only those apps’ App Store IDs and your device’s country code.

PhotoGuessr Family Game

PhotoGuessr, the family photo game in PhotoFlight Pro, plays with the trips and photos PhotoFlight has already found on your device, so it does not scan your library again. Photos are shown on your device, and on a TV if you choose to connect one; they are never uploaded. Photos you have hidden in the Photos app, screenshots and videos are never shown. When an answer is revealed, the photo's coordinates (not the photo) are sent to Apple's place-name lookup, as described above. Player names, your family roster with each person's wins, recent games and game settings are saved on your device only.

In-App Purchases

PhotoFlight offers a one-time in-app purchase processed by Apple. We do not collect or have access to your payment information. Purchase transactions are handled entirely by Apple's App Store.

Data Storage

All app data (travel history, location clusters, trip information, and PhotoGuessr players and game history) is stored locally on your device. This data is not backed up to any external server.

Children's Privacy

PhotoFlight is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
