Cognithix keeps everything on your device. There is no account, no sign-in and no cloud storage, and we cannot see, access or share any information about you or your child.

1. Who We Are

Cognithix is made by Blue Flame Games and operated by Alex Ghita, who acts as the data controller for the purposes of applicable data protection law.

2. Data Stored on Your Device

A parent or guardian sets up Cognithix on the device. The app stores the following only on that device; none of it is sent to us or anyone else:

• Child profiles — first name or nickname and curriculum settings
• Learning progress — answers and scores during practice, topic progress, learning plans, badges, streaks and points
• Mascot and character — your child's mascot, challenge and Wonder Trail progress, and their character's look
• Parent PIN — stored only as a salted hash, never in plain text
• Free trial and purchase status — the date the free trial started and whether the one-time unlock has been bought

3. What We Do Not Collect

We collect no data from the app. In particular, Cognithix has:

• No accounts, email addresses or sign-in
• No servers or cloud storage
• No analytics, crash reporting or tracking
• No advertising or advertising identifiers
• No location, photos, contacts, microphone or camera access

Reading questions aloud uses the device's built-in speech, on the device. Reminders about your child's mascot are scheduled on the device itself; there is no push-notification server. We never sell data.

4. Apple Services

• Purchases — the free trial and one-time unlock are handled by the Apple App Store. Apple processes the payment; we never receive your payment details.
• Game Center — if the device is signed in to Game Center, challenge scores can be posted to Game Center leaderboards, where the Game Center nickname is visible to other players. This is handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. A parent can turn Game Center off in the device's Settings.

5. Children's Privacy

Cognithix is set up and controlled by a parent or guardian. Children do not have accounts and cannot provide data to us. Purchases, settings and external links sit behind a parent PIN.

6. Earlier Versions

Earlier versions of Cognithix asked a parent to sign in (with email, Google or Apple) and stored the following in Google Firebase, which may have held data outside the UK under appropriate contractual safeguards:

• the parent's email address, display name and sign-in ID
• child profiles (name or nickname, curriculum settings, points and streaks)
• practice summaries: per-session and per-topic counts of questions attempted and answered correctly, points, durations and timestamps (individual answers were never uploaded)

The current version has no sign-in and never contacts Firebase. If your app still asks you to sign in, you are using an earlier version, which keeps storing this data in Firebase until you update.

We will permanently delete all cloud data held for earlier versions once the update is available. To have yours deleted sooner, or to confirm it has gone, email blueflamegames@proton.me.

7. Deleting Your Data

• One child — delete the child's profile in the grown-up area; that child's data is removed from the device.
• Everything — uninstall the app, which removes its data from the device. The free-trial start date and purchase status are kept in the device's secure storage so a reinstall doesn't restart the trial or lose your purchase; they contain no personal information.

8. Your Rights (UK GDPR)

Because Cognithix keeps its data on your device, you are in control of it directly: you can view, change or delete it in the app at any time. For any data held for an earlier version (see “Earlier Versions” above), you have the right to access it, correct it, have it deleted, restrict or object to its processing, and receive a copy. Email blueflamegames@proton.me and we will respond within 30 days.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

9. Security

Cognithix's data is stored in the app's private storage on your device and protected by iOS data protection when the device is locked. The parent PIN is never stored in plain text — only a salted hash is kept, in the device's secure storage.

10. Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, tell you in the app.
