Pen Licence is built for young learners. The privacy model is simple: everything stays on the device. Nothing about a child's practice sessions ever leaves the iPad.

What Pen Licence Does NOT Do

• No accounts. No email, no username, no password.
• No network connection required. The app works fully offline.
• No ads, no trackers, no third-party analytics SDKs.
• No data sold, shared, or uploaded to any server.
• No location data, contacts, calendars, or photos accessed.
• No microphone or camera used.

Data Stored on the Device

The following is stored locally on your child's iPad, and only there:

• Practice progress (which letters have been completed and at what score)
• Handwriting samples from recent sessions, for local review
• Pressure and stroke metrics from Apple Pencil sessions
• App preferences (letter-order mode, appearance settings)

All local data is encrypted by iOS when the device is locked. Data is deleted when the app is removed.

Apple Pencil Pressure Data

When an Apple Pencil is connected, Pen Licence records pressure per stroke to show the child when a stroke was too light or too heavy. This data is processed on-device, used only during the current and recent sessions, and never transmitted.

Children's Privacy

Pen Licence is designed for children. It collects no personal information from children of any age. Because the app does not transmit data and does not use any identifiers, it is consistent with COPPA and GDPR-K principles for children's products. No parental consent mechanism is needed because there is no data collection.

Third Parties

Pen Licence does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. The app is built entirely with Apple frameworks (UIKit, PencilKit, CoreData, Vision for on-device character recognition).

Deletion

All data is deleted when the app is uninstalled. There is no cloud copy, no account to close, and nothing to request removal of.
