PaceGrid is built with privacy-by-architecture. Your data stays on your device. There are no servers.
Data Stored on Device Only
- GPS coordinates — recorded during workouts, stored locally, never leaves your device unless you explicitly share or export
- Health data from HealthKit — heart rate, HRV, VO2 Max, processed locally
- Workout data — distance, duration, pace, elevation, kept locally
- Settings and preferences — stored locally
Data We Do NOT Collect
- Personal identifiers
- No accounts required
- No background location tracking
- No analytics SDKs
- No advertising
- No data monetisation
Third-Party Services
- Strava — optional. Uploads completed GPX via OAuth 2.0. No credentials stored in PaceGrid.
- Apple HealthKit — requires explicit permission. Governed by Apple's privacy policy.
- Apple iCloud — optional sync.
- OpenStreetMap — map tiles only. No personal data is sent, only tile coordinates.
Storage
Data is stored in an encrypted SQLite database on your device. GPS tracks are stored in binary format within sandboxed storage.
Export and Deletion
Export your data in GPX or FIT format. Delete individual activities within the app. Uninstall the app to remove all data.
Children
PaceGrid is not directed at children under 13.
