Race your friends

Nitro Metro is better with company. Race friends in the same room, or find players online.

Nearby

One iPhone or iPad hosts and up to seven friends join, over Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. No internet needed.

Online with Game Center

Quick Match finds players who want the same kind of race, or invite your friends with Race Friends.

The host sets the race

The host picks the race, the route and the weather, and whether AI drivers join in and how hard they are.

Nobody gets left behind

Fall behind and you get a burst of speed to catch up, so races stay close. There is no chat. Nearby, everyone races under a driver tag picked from a list; online, under their Game Center name.

Ten cities. 77 circuits.

Start in Hong Kong and Macau, then take the World Tour across ten world cities, from Paris and Tokyo to Las Vegas and Dubai, plus 77 Grand Prix circuits from racing history, each set in its own landscape. Famous skylines and landmarks line the streets, with two-way city traffic, highways with on-ramps, trams and long trucks.

Swipe. Jump. Nitro.

Swipe to change lanes, hit the ramps, fire the nitro and outrun the police. Easy to pick up, with plenty to master at 300 km/h.

Swipe to change lanes

Swipe left or right to slip through two-way city traffic, line up a ramp or pull alongside a rival.

Hit the ramps

Highways with on-ramps, jumps and long trucks to weave around, all at speed.

Fire the nitro

Light the nitro to blast past the pack, and break out of a police box-in.

Pick your season

Spring blossom, summer heat or golden autumn: choose the season and the route before each race.

Play with a controller

Pick up a PS5 DualSense, Xbox or MFi controller and race without touching the screen: your pad's own buttons on screen, rumble on every hit, and every menu driven from the pad. Touch the screen and the touch controls are back.

Race the crews

Street races, circuits, cups and more. Win every way there is to win.

  • Street races, circuits, cups, knockouts, drift events and drag races with manual gears.
  • Takedowns: slam rivals into the barriers before the finish.
  • Pink slips: stake one of your cars and win the boss crew's ride. Lose a car and its new owner will race you in it. Win it back.
  • The Signal 8 Run: Kowloon to Macau before the typhoon signal goes up, against the four boss crews.
  • Grand Prix circuits: 77 circuits from racing history, set in forest hills, harbours, deserts and mountains.
  • Grid Runs: you and the rival boss secretly pick the streets, and the race follows the route you built between you.
  • Car logbooks: every car keeps a logbook of its races, wins and owners. Crash hard and the scars show on the car until you repair them.

Escape the police

Police chases in every city, each with its own police cars, heat levels and roadblocks.

  • Boxed in? Break out with nitro.
  • Or take one of them down.
  • Watch for roadblocks as the heat level climbs.

Power-ups change everything

21 power-ups: drop firecrackers behind you, pull down a shutter, catch a tailwind, send a kite after the leader or set a lion dance loose.

  • Every attack is shown before it lands, and every one can be dodged.
  • The back of the pack gets the strongest. Switch power-ups off in Settings any time.
  • Storms roll in mid-race: rain, lightning and wind through the grass. Halloween and Christmas dress the courses in their season.

Build your ride

25 cars, from a friendly starter hatch to the boss crews' rides. Every car and upgrade is earned by racing.

  • Upgrade part by part: engine, turbo, nitrous, transmission, tires, suspension, brakes and weight.
  • Make it yours with paint, finishes, wheels, spoilers, window tint, vinyls, lamps and exhausts.
  • Add neon underglow for the night streets.
